The Basics
OBEDIO is a smart crew call and butler call system for superyachts, luxury villas, and private estates. It is a service call button with built-in offline voice-to-text, instant translation in 100+ languages, 2 year battery life, and integration with Crestron and Control4 home automation. When a guest presses and speaks, the request is transcribed, translated, and routed to the correct on-duty crew member's smartwatch or phone.
OBEDIO was built by Branko Blagojevic, who spent 10 years working as crew on superyachts. He experienced firsthand the communication gaps, language barriers, and inefficient service call systems on luxury vessels. OBEDIO was designed from actual crew experience - built by crew, for crew.

Voice & Language
OBEDIO processes voice locally on the device using on-board AI. The audio is recorded, transcribed, and translated entirely on-device. Nothing is uploaded to any cloud server. This works in remote anchorages, during ocean crossings, or anywhere without connectivity. Voice data never leaves the vessel or property.
Over 100 languages for voice-to-text and translation. A guest can speak in Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Mandarin, French, German, Spanish, or any other supported language. The crew receives the request translated into their preferred language. Five AI models cross-check every transcription for accuracy.
Hardware & Battery
Up to 2 years. No daily charging rounds. No dead buttons during service. When charging is eventually needed, the button charges on any standard wireless charger - MagSafe, Qi pad, or any other. No cables, no proprietary cradle, no wired installation.
The standard button is 72x72mm (about the width of an iPhone). A 65mm compact version is also available for more discreet installations.
Yes. OBEDIO uses a CNC-machined aluminum body with a double-molding process that allows virtually any material for the inlay: leather, wood, stone, metal, carbon fiber, or even exotic materials. The button blends seamlessly into any luxury interior.
Connectivity & Reliability
Yes. The whole system runs on an on-board server, so the full cycle - button press, voice recording, transcription, and crew notification - works with zero internet or cloud. WiFi is the primary link on board; the optional RF redundancy package adds a second radio channel that takes over automatically if WiFi drops. A request is not lost.
Yes. OBEDIO is an official Control4 integration partner and supports Crestron systems. The same SmartButton can control cabin lighting, blinds, climate, and scenes alongside guest service calls. One button replaces multiple control interfaces.
Safety & Escalation
OBEDIO has 3-level automatic escalation. Level 1: Re-alerts on-duty crew. Level 2: Notifies supervisors and heads of department. Level 3: Emergency broadcast to entire crew. Timeouts, roles, and alert intensity are fully configurable.
If a guest shakes the button, it triggers an instant emergency broadcast to every device on board. The alert includes the guest's location, medical profile, allergies, and conditions. Every crew member sees it immediately. Response time from shake to notification is under one second.
Crew & Platforms
iPhone, Apple Watch, Android phones, Wear OS smartwatches, and a web dashboard. Crew members receive notifications and respond from any device. The offline messenger supports voice-to-text replies from smartwatches.
Yes. Full offline messenger for crew communication. Send direct messages or announcements. Reply from phones, watches, or voice-to-text on the wrist. Messages support Normal, High, and Urgent priority levels.
Beyond Yachts
Absolutely. While designed for superyachts, OBEDIO works equally well as a butler call system for private estates, luxury villas, and boutique hotels. Anywhere with staff serving guests. The multilingual support is particularly valuable for international households with staff from different countries.
